"FEARLESSLY HE FACED THE ADVANCE" - oil on linen - 24"h x 30"w - SOLD
Done as the 4th in a series of four historical paintings for a book on the Kentucky
long rifle, to be published in the Spring of 2012. In this painting we are looking at
the Battle of New Orleans in 1815, early in the morning when the British were
advancing on the American forces, and a courageous militia man stood above the
ramparts looking for a British victim to waylay with his long rifle. -

Painting of the last card game when Wild Bill Hickok was assasinated by Jack McCall in 1876. Legend has it that Hickok's hand was made up of aces 'n' eights, forever after called the "Dead Man's Hand". -
